Wesbild purchased 1,410 acres on Westwood Plateau, located in the City of Coquitlam, a suburb of Greater Vancouver, from the government of British Columbia in 1989. Wesbild developed a concept plan and subsequent development plan for the area. These plans included an 18-hole championship golf course, 9-hole golf academy, schools, parks, playing fields and a neighbourhood shopping centre.

Responsible Development
In the course of the development of Westwood Plateau, Wesbild planted over 10,000 trees, created almost 700 acres of green parks/community forest, developed an integrated trail system and used innovative techniques to minimize damage to fish bearing creeks. These initiatives have since been adopted by the development industry as the standard for responsible development in sensitive areas.

Forward Thinking
Internationally renowned for the forward thinking nature of the master plan and the innovative techniques that were used to minimize environmental impacts both during and after construction, Westwood Plateau is one of the most desirable suburban locations in Greater Vancouver.

Today
Completed in 2005, Westwood Plateau comprises 4,525 units and is now home to a vibrant community of 15,000 residents. The project won numerous awards for its community planning, marketing and forward-thinking environmental practices.

Westwood Plateau is a true example of a community that complements nature, not replaces it.
